Rupert Cattell - Managing Director

Rupert is a qualified commercial solicitor with over 37 years’ experience in corporate finance and business sales, having set up and managed the second largest business brokerage in the country.

Having sold many thousands of businesses, Rupert is known as an expert in the sale of all types of businesses and his expertise and comments are often quoted in the National Press.

Rupert believes in providing professional business brokerage and company valuations for business owners wishing to sell quickly, confidentially and for the maximum value.

Rupert holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and is a keen sportsman, particularly rowing, when not spending time with his family.


Rob Dancey - Regional Manager

Rob celebrated 10 years with Turner Butler back in 2016. A decade within the business brokerage marketplace has provided him with invaluable insight and knowledge in the mergers and acquisitions sector. He has successfully sold hundreds of businesses during this time providing a highly professional yet personable service to his clients.

Rob had previously worked with some of the largest blue chip organizations in the world such as UBS and Vodafone. His experience includes the effective management of mission critical roll-out projects, from securing the business via commercial tendering and presentation to initial design and specification through to final manufacture and deployment, in many cases on a pan European scale.

Rob further developed and enhanced these skills by successfully running his own company for 7 years prior to joining the team at Turner Butler. His company provided bespoke IT infrastructure products to clients who required a unique product with quick turnaround and extremely high levels of service. This was achieved through strategic partnering, goodwill and excellent communication. This ability to fulfil clients’ requirements effectively and personally has positioned Rob well in his current role at Turner Butler.


Terry Collette - Regional Manager

Terry’s business career started in stockbroking in 1973 buying and selling stock transfers and then progressing to dividends. From there he branched out into investment banking for Chase Manhattan. In 1979 he started his own financial services group, expanding internationally into the Middle East. He dealt with SME’s seeking commercial finance and worked closely with lenders from Britain, Dubai, the Far East and America.

During the late 80’s he diversified into a number of different sectors, successfully selling his last company in 1998.

Moving over to Spain for seven years, he set up a structured property investment group which he sold in 2006. For the last ten years he has worked closely with Turner Butler giving his considerable experience to companies seeking to go to market.


Rob Edwards - Regional Manager

Rob Edwards has a background in marketing and advertising and an MBA from one of the UK’s highest ranked business schools; he has been a business owner from which he successfully exited and a board director in several other businesses. Rob specialises in a broad range of corporate transactions and business strategy advisory work, including mergers and acquisitions, share sales and purchases dealing regularly with private equity and venture capital investors, lending and financing transactions, as well as advising on MBO’s, transactions involving LLP’s, partnerships and joint ventures.

Rob has extensive experience of business management including outsourcing, sponsorship and merchandising, human resources, licensing, telecoms, technology and commercial agreements, strategic marketing, e-commerce and new media issues. He has worked across a range of sectors including fashion, marketing, hotels & hospitality, aviation, brands, media, sports, leisure and entertainment, internet, manufacturing, technology & telecommunications and energy sectors.

His clients have included hoteliers and restaurateurs, technology & telecoms companies, manufacturing businesses, intellectual property rights holders and owners, media and software businesses, international trading companies, as well as domestic and international investors and entrepreneurs.


John Giles - Regional Manager

John has spent a number of years in the manufacturing industry and qualified in the use of lean six sigma methodology which systematically removes waste and re-engineers and measures processes. John is also a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and has a particular strength in dealing with the valuation of businesses.

John has experience of working in the corporate world as well as small medium enterprise at Senior Management and Director level. He is also currently the Financial Director of a graphics and digital media company based near London.

John has passion and drive, has negotiated the sale of a number of businesses with a good eye to set up the right deal structure for a particular sale.


Paul Guest - Regional Manager

Paul has a wealth of experience in business sales, in particular commercial finance and he has worked with a wide range of business owners to find optimal solutions for restructuring and acquisitions. He has worked for large international business consultancies and understands the importance of a dedicated service. Paul has commercial experience in a broad range of sectors and has dealt with all types and size of business owners.

Paul has also owned and successfully run his own business for eight years and so he appreciates the care, stress, skill and diligence required to operate one’s own business. His experience of managing his own business has also provided him with a strong understanding of the value that specialist guidance can bring to an organisation.
